Shaking Fist Productions strives to offer opportunities for emerging talents to entertain
and educate the West Michigan Community through the Arts.
Karen Libman taught for several years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln , SUNY-Cortland,
and Illinois State University before joining the faculty at Grand Valley in 1999. National directing
credits include Crackerbarrel! (Nebraska Theatre Caravan tour production); The Princess and
the Pea,  Aladdin (Nebraska Repertory Theatre); A Christmas Carol (Ithaca, New York); The
Snow Queen (Mesa, Arizona); and the world premiere of the award-winning play, Rachel's
Night (Bloomington, Illinois).  Her work has been seen in Michigan at Heritage Theatre (Special
Grand Award winner for ensemble in Metamorphoses), Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, and The
Grand Rapids Jewish Theatre.  She has directing mainstage Shakespeare Festival productions
including The Merchant of Venice and A Comedy of Errors.  Other GVSU productions include
Big Love,  Mother Courage and Children, and the award-winning Angels in America , Part I.  
Most recently, her GVSU 2007 Bard To Go touring production traveled to Shanghai , China , in
May 2008, and performed in the local secondary schools and at East China Normal University .  
Libman received the 2008 American Alliance for Theatre in Education Lin Wright Special
Recognition Award for her work with Bard to Go, as well as a Kennedy Center/American
College Theatre Festival Citation for Directing, and the 2006 GVSU Barbara Jordan Award.  She
thanks her family.
Chris S. Teller earned his B.S. in Theatre from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. At
GVSU he participated in numerous productions as not only an actor, but as a designer and
production crew.  Chris' work with Shaking Fist, besides the honor of being a board member,
has included lighting design for The Guys and starring in I Hate Hamlet as John Barrymore.  He
is also a company member and the Artistic Board Chairman for Pigeon Creek Shakespeare
Company in Grand Haven, MI.  Chris recently returned to Grand Valley State to seek a degree in
secondary education in English and History.
Kristian Wenzel brings a decade of knowledge in small business management to the board of
directors for Shaking Fist Productions. He spent four years in the United States Marine Corps.
giving him a foundation of leadership and teamwork. He has been successfully managing a local
store of a nationwide corporation for almost ten years. Kristian currently serves as the treasurer
for the Board of Directors.
Sarah Allan is thrilled to contribute her experience in marketing and public relations as Secretary
for the Board of Directors.  After graduating from the Honors College at Grand Valley with a
B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations, Sarah moved to Chicago.  There she built a nationwide
top-ranked catering program for a national restaurant chain.  Sarah is excited to be pairing
marketing and sales skills with 15 years of theatre experience to work with Shaking Fist.
Catherine S. Browers has over 20 years of Administrative and Accounting experience in
public education and non-profit organizations. This has also included oversight of, and
negotiations with, various employee groups. She has performed work with various
Michigan public and charter schools, and is currently employed as a professor of
accounting at the undergrad and graduate level at Ferris State University. Mrs. Browers has
experience in developing local community activities, and has wide experience in writing and
administering grants at the local, state, and federal level. Mrs. Browers has served on
several boards, and is the current board president of Shaking Fist Productions. She is a
strong advocate of programs that promote the education and cultural enhancement
experience for children of all ages.
